This past Independence Day weekend marked a time when people flocked to beaches, parks, and to see fireworks, while others headed to the theaters to see Colchester resident John Koopman, III, star in a prominent film role honoring the country’s history.

“America: Imagine the World Without Her,” was produced by Gerald R. Molen, a producer of “Jurassic Park” and “Minority Report.” The new film looks at the heroes who built America, such as Christopher Columbus, Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglas, George Washington and others.
